How to start using LogNoter?

The best way to be introduced to LogNoter is the "Start tutorial". It is available selecting the menu "File->Start here->Tutorial".

How does it manage the information?

Every Lognoter database can be stored either in a file or in a centralized server containing an existing Mysql database.

Where is information stored?

LogNoter can store textual formatted data, images and files all in the same place. It permits total freedom in the organization of data. Each LogNoter document has a ".wnl" extension.

The information is organized in pages and it is very simple to create Links from one page to any other page. Documents stored inside a project can be executed directly from inside LogNoter, modified and reloaded into the database

How do I backup data?

LogNoter makes automatic backups when a modification is done.

Can data be imported and exported?

LogNoter allows the imporation from different formats. Moreover, the program can generate automatic reports based in the information stored in the database in multiple formats (PDF,HTML,Word), throught the use of templates. The possibility of creating templates makes LogNoter a versatile tool for report generation.

Can notes be hidden with a password?

It is possible to encrypt one page. After being encrypted, it is only possible to visualize or modify it by using a password.

To encrypt one page, it must be visualized and the menu "Utilities->Encrypt" selected. If the password is forgotten, it is not possible to recover the contents of the page.
